According to statistics from the China National Furniture Association, there are currently 50 furniture industry clusters nationwide. Guangdong Province holds a significant position with nine clusters, mainly located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cities such as Dongguan, Foshan, and Guangzhou. These clusters boast evident advantages and robust regional resources.
In 2022, Dongguan and Foshan collaborated, leveraging their respective industry strengths to create the Foshan-Dongguan Area’s Pan Home Furnishing Industry Cluster, recognized as a national advanced manufacturing cluster by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In March 2023, the China National Furniture Association and the Dongguan Municipal Government initiated a strategic partnership to establish the nation's first world-class furniture industry cluster in Houjie, Dongguan. This collaboration focuses on six major goals to build a world-class furniture industry cluster.
Recently, the "2024 China Private Economy Top 100 Industry Clusters Research Report," jointly released by institutions such as China Institute of Private Sector, highlighted the inclusion of the Dongguan Pan-Home Industry Cluster, reaffirming its outstanding performance and influence in the private economy sector.

This year's event will build on previous successes, further advancing industry cluster goals. Centered on "International Design," it will feature content upgrades and enhanced significance, focusing on the initial phase of furniture industry cluster development, including the construction of the International Design Innovation Exchange Center and the Modern Industrial Park as the "Capital of Industrial Manufacturing."

The event will see the establishment of an International Furniture Design Innovation Exchange Center and a global furniture design co-creation and sharing platform. This will deepen the collaborative model of "association + schools + enterprises," integrating the resources of the China National Furniture Association, design achievements of top domestic and international design schools, and patents from furniture manufacturing enterprises.
By building large designer communities, hosting high-standard international designer competitions, and attracting top global design talents and skilled craftsmen to Houjie, the event aims to provide strong creative talent support for the high-quality development of Dongguan's furniture manufacturing industry.

In southwestern Houjie, over a thousand acres of land will be designated for the home furnishing industry. This area will be globally promoted to attract top home furnishing manufacturing and trade enterprises to Houjie. The aim is to create a digital, global modern intelligent home furnishing industrial park.
The park will serve as the core, influencing the entire town, city, and even the Greater Bay Area, accelerating the implementation of intelligent, automated, and flexible transformations in manufacturing equipment for furniture companies. This will cultivate a number of Industry 4.0 model enterprises, leading the industry from "furniture manufacturing" to "intelligent furniture manufacturing."
Series of Concurrent Activities: Seizing Business Opportunities
To further enrich and extend the furniture industry chain and support the global development of the furniture industry, a series of activities will be organized from August 17-18, focusing on six major construction goals to create a world-class furniture industry cluster.
These activities include the International Design Innovation Conference, the Night of Sino-foreign Design, tours of the core exhibition area of the Dongguan Furniture Industry Cluster, and the "Experience Dongguan" design study tours. This rich content framework forms a "1+2+N" model.
Several Sino-foreign trade cooperation exchange meetings, one-on-one procurement matching meetings, and business matchmaking sessions will be held to inject new momentum into the expansion of enterprises' international channels.
