Capitalizing on the momentum of exhibitions to drive industry growth, the 2024 World-Class Furniture Industry Cluster Event is set to take place in Houjie, Dongguan, on August 17-18.
This event is strategically designed to expand and enhance the furniture industry chain, contributing to the global advancement of the sector. The event will focus on six key areas to create a world-class furniture industry cluster.
Over the course of two days, a series of significant activities will unfold, including the International Design Innovation Conference, Dongguan Design Night, Design Study Tour, and a visit to the core exhibition area of the Dongguan Furniture Industry Cluster. These activities will spotlight the design achievements within this world-class cluster.
This year’s International Design Week will feature numerous highlights, offering insights into the future trends of the global furniture industry.

International Design Innovation Conference
A Forward-Thinking Event of Visionary Minds
The 2024 International Design Innovation Conference, a key event organized by the government, industry associations, and trade exhibitions, will be held on the afternoon of August 17 at the Regal Palace Hotel in Houjie. Under the theme “United in Vision and Action,” the conference will focus on the latest global developments in the furniture industry, while also exploring the achievements and future prospects of the Dongguan World-Class Furniture Industry Cluster.
The conference will leverage its platform to connect domestic and international design resources, with a particular focus on “International Design.” This will elevate and deepen the content of the event, promoting the development of the “Design Innovation Capital”—the Famous Furnishings International Design Center—and the “Industrial Manufacturing Capital”—the Modern Industrial Park.
In addition, a global brand signing ceremony for the Famous Furnishings International Design Center will take place, where international designers will share the latest global trends in furniture design. This will pave the way for new strategies within the global furniture cluster.
The event will bring together international guests, government officials, designers, industry associations, brand companies, and other industry leaders to discuss various aspects of industry development, policy innovation, and global market opportunities, fostering collaboration and innovation in the global furniture industry.

On the evening of August 17, Dongguan will host an annual gathering for designers from across the country. Elite representatives from design agencies, institutes, universities, brand enterprises, channels, and associations will converge in Dongguan. A highlight of the evening will be the unveiling of a global promotional video for the "Design Innovation Capital" Famous Furnishing International Design Center, as well as the launch of the "Industrial Manufacturing Capital" Dongguan Furniture Industrial Park. Houjie Town is planning to develop over a thousand acres of land dedicated to the furniture industry.
